Portrait Artist of The Year

In this first heat, nine artists are challenged to make their mark with a portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: rock star, Yungblud, Television presenter, Alex Jones and writer and actor, Kyla Harris.

In this second heat, nine artists are challenged to create a show-stopping portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: chef and presenter Si King, former rugby player Joe Marler and award- winning novelist Elif Shafak.

In this third heat, nine artists are challenged to capture on canvas the portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: actor and singer Billy Porter, journalist Emma Barnett and presenter James May.

In this fourth heat, nine artists are challenged to produce breathtaking portraits of one of three celebrity sitters: Singer Songwriter, Cat Burns, Actress, Adjoa Ando and Broadcaster, Clara Amfo.

In this fifth heat, nine artists are challenged to make their mark with a portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: actors Max Beasley and Emily Attack, and DJ, Melvin Odoom.

In this sixth heat, nine artists are challenged to capture on canvas the portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: presenter Gabby Logan, journalist Beth Rigby, and former Boyzone star Shane Lynch.

In this seventh heat, nine artists are challenged to create a show-stopping portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: comedians Jack Dee and Fatiha El Ghori and Musician Jacob Collier.

In this eighth and final heat, nine artists are challenged to create a show-stopping portrait of one of three celebrity sitters: astronaut Tim Peake, comedian and writer Jack Rooke and Royal Ballet Principal dancer, Reece Clarke.

Eight artists have progressed to the penultimate stage of the competition, and the stakes are high.

Stephen Mangan presents the final stage of the competition from a pared back Grand Hall of Battersea Arts Centre, London where only three artists are left in the running to become the twelfth Portrait Artist of the Year.
